Welcome to my website!
I design and create handwoven textiles from my home in Worcestershire, taking my inspiration from the seasonal changing moods and colours of the landscape, most especially the Malvern Hills and the surrounding Worcestershire/Herefordshire countryside.
All my work is individually handcrafted on a variety of multi-shaft table looms or an old 4 shaft counterbalance loom. I mainly work with natural fibres – wool, silk, alpaca, cotton and linen – which are often hand dyed in small batches, so that no two pieces are ever quite the same.
I have always loved making things, and take great delight in hand crafted objects of all kinds. I find that a passion for weaving is a link to our past and future cultural heritage, and also to peoples across the world, and often incorporate ideas from historic textiles or materials from abroad in my work.
I love to work with and share skills with other textile artists, and have recently successfully completed the Handweavers Diploma from the Handweavers Studio in London. I like to encourage others to discover the joy of weaving for themselves, and welcome enquiries regarding individual or small group tuition.
